Season 1 = blue (9 episodes)
Season 2 = red (12 episodes)
Season 3 = green (12 episodes)
Season 4 = N/A
Season 5 = orange (11 episodes)

Length of marathon:  22 hours
Total episodes: 44

The marathon lasts 22 hours, and is comprised of 44 half-hour episodes. Season 4 is nowhere to be found (which doesn’t particularly bother me, since I very recently completed the arduous task of reviewing the entire season with supersized blog entries to match the double-length format).  The other four seasons could’ve been equally represented with 11 episodes from each, which is NOT the case (the first season, which is by far the best, is only granted 9 episodes).  But you know what?  I don’t give a damn either way, since I won’t be watching it.  I can’t abide the syndication cuts, the crappy image quality, and the intrusive commercials.  Your mileage may vary, of course.

Hi Craig.
Horror of horrors.
I watched the premiere episode of the SYFY marathon (my all time favorite episode "Walking Distance") and almost lost my lunch when I realized that the scene with Ron Howard was cut out for syndication.
What a disgrace.

...EXACTLY why nobody should ever watch The Twilight Zone on Syfy (or any other channel). Invest in the DVDs or, better yet, the blu-rays.

The cutting and the commercials bother me too, and yet I never miss at least several hours of these marathons. Maybe it has something to do with the show being submitted for the approval of millions of people at the same time, the same way I first experienced it in 1959-63? I also like seeing how long it takes to guess what the episode is from the first line of dialogue or notes of music.
